Five-time ADCC champion Gordon Ryan is one of the most accomplished Jiu-Jitsu stars on the planet. However, his super-ripped physique has landed him in controversy several times. In fact, his accomplishments are tarnished by those that claim his success is due to the usage of steroids.

Ryan was recently in a battle with strep throat that took a toll on his physique. Even then, the BJJ star had to face PED allegations in response to his weakened figure. Now, Ryan is clapping back at his haters, proving that the playground has either been even or not in his favor at all when he reaped his enormous success.

In a recent Instagram post, Gordon Ryan laid down some cold, hard facts for his doubters to reflect on. He analyzed his career fights and laid down the numbers to dismantle the claims that PEDs helped him surpass his competition.

The 27-year-old wrote, “Gordon Ryan only wins because he’s on juice and bigger and stronger than everyone. Fun fact- 70% of all matches in my career were against people my weight or heavier. 86% of adcc opponents have been my weight or heavier. Sorry.”

This is not the first time Ryan has gone after his haters. The two-time IBJJF no-gi world champion recently laid another reason why USADA testing was not possible in jiu-jitsu like in the UFC.

Ryan’s take on USADA testing in Jiu-Jitsu

In another social media post, Ryan recently explained why USADA testing was not feasible in his sport. He was responding to another post explaining the UFC’s $7 million spending for USADA testing in 2022.

Ryan wrote, “People – Jiu-Jitsu needs random testing.” He continued, “Sick, you paying for it? Because these athletes with cardboard box personalities aren’t bringing in enough cash to support testing. The testing would literally cost more than the athletes generate hahahha.”

Ryan is making valid arguments for his case and holding his fort against his doubters. The recent incidents of BJJ athletes receiving USADA suspension only prove Ryan’s point that PED use is rampant in the sport.
