‘This post-apocalypse America offers an insight into a future portrayed by no other books’
This amazing book was a great read and kept me glued to my seat throughout. A captivating plot, the constant action and suspense made this a book you wouldn’t just go and put away. I loved the tragic story of both the main characters and the circumstances that brought them together.
It’s all about two teenagers: Day, a street child who’s cunning and athletic, and June, a rich girl who’s the smartest girl in the country, living with her brother after the terrible death of their parents. They live in the future America - The Republic. After a disastrous incident, June (now working for the police), hunts down Day, who’s The Republic’s number one wanted criminal. After spending time with him, June reports Day to her commander who then attempts to kill Day’s family...
I wish I could reveal my favourite part but unfortunately it’s a surprise! You’ll have to read it to find out. But my favourite character is June as she’s smart, and l love the transformation of her personality as the book progresses.
This gripping book made me buy all of the series, which also proved to have the same quality plot and exciting action. A book definitely for all Young Adult fiction fans, this post-apocalypse America offers an insight into a future portrayed by no other books. This is a gem in an ever-growing genre.
