No longer associated with the classroom, chalks are having a moment (again).
Hair chalks are a beauty resource that can update your look quickly, and on a temporary basis. Want to try out a pastel hair shade but having commitment issues? Then try out a chalk!
Popular for several years now, hair chalks have been the biggest hair trend circulated on social media this summer, especially on Instagram.
Quite literally a coloured chalk, these little wonders are rubbed on to hair strands to create blocks, or thin strips of colour in whatever style you choose. They come in an array of shades from pastel pinks to bold reds.
The pros to this form of hair colour are endless: it's easy to do, doesn't last too long and can be used in a multitude of different ways.
The only con we can think of is the effect it may have on your bed-sheets, but if you're a fake-tanner, you may already be aware of this problem (sleep on a towell!).
Which products should you use?For our favourite hair chalk products, click here or just scroll to the end of the article for our gallery.
How do you use them? It's pretty simple to apply hair chalk. Pick your favourite shade and formula from our gallery below and get chalking!
For pale hair, chalks can be applied to dry hair, but with darker hair shades it's best to add a little water to hair first to result in a more intense colour payoff.
There are so many different ways to use hair chalks, but we've picked out some of our faves (with the help of instagram of course!):
